DSC 0231Borgmästaravtalet för klimat och energi är en unik politisk rörelse som styrs av borgmästare.

Styrelsen för det europeiska borgmästaravtalet ger lokala och regionala ledare möjlighet att spela en större roll i utformningen och vidareutvecklingen av initiativet. Styrelsemedlemmar främjar även framtagandet av nationella och europeiska ramverk som gynnar lokala klimat- och energiåtgärder, genom att öka kunskapen om lokala behov hos beslutsfattare på europeisk och nationell nivå.

Denna styrelse har som syfte att diskutera avtalets strategiska inriktning, säkerställa att det tillmötesgår städernas behov samt anpassas till deras förväntningar, och att främja dialog mellan den europeiska avtalsgemenskapen och EU:s institutioner. Styrelsen består av sju borgmästare och valda lokala representanter.
