Join the EU Sustainable Energy Week 2018!

    eusew

The European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) is a yearly key event during which the European Commission organises a series of sessions and networking events to discuss new policy developments, best practices and sustainable energy ideas. This year, the EUSEW has the theme “Lead the clean energy transition” and will take place from 4 to 8 June.

    The Policy Conference

The highlight of the week will be the Policy Conference, taking place from 5 to 7 June 2018. Different sessions will be organised at the European Commission’s Charlemagne building and the Residence Palace in Brussels. Past editions saw the participation of energy experts and professionals coming from city councils, European institutions, private companies and research organisations, but also citizen groups and NGOs. Registrations are not open yet, but will start soon, so stay tuned!

    The networking village

The event is an opportunity to connect with energy efficiency and renewable energy stakeholders. A networking village will be created in the Residence Palace to facilitate the exchanges of ideas on new policies, best practices and promote collaborations. During the Energy Fair, contributors will have the chance to present their activities and discuss them with the audience. Short Energy Talks will be an opportunity to discover innovative initiatives while participants will be able to pitch their project ideas during the Energy Lab, benefiting from the advice of a jury of experts.

The European Commission is currently looking for contributors to feature in the networking village. The activities will be selected based on the degree of audience engagement they promise to achieve. The deadline for applications is Monday, 16 April 2018 - find all info here

    The EU Sustainable Energy Awards

The EU Sustainable Energy Awards recognise outstanding innovation in energy efficiency and renewables. Anyone has the opportunity to submit a project with the potential to help citizens, industry and the public sector work towards the EU Energy Union. The submission phase ended at the beginning of March. Nominees and finalists will be chosen from a shortlist of the year’s most successful projects for clean, secure and efficient energy. Prizes will be awarded by an expert jury and European citizens during the Awards Ceremony on June 5th.

During last year's edition, the Covenant city Tilos was awarded the Energy Islands Category And Citizens’ Award thanks to its innovative renewable energy storage project.

    The Energy Days

Local public and private organisation from EU Member States can also organise activities called Energy Days, in the framework of EUSEW. Any activity can be an Energy Day, as long as it engages citizens and energy stakeholders in discussing the path towards the Energy Union. All Energy Days will be showcased on an interactive map, so that people will be able to find events they can attend in their proximity.
